BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

A few useful answers.

Which format should I choose?

Choose the Markdown editor for live preview and PDF export. Choose HTML if you want to edit the file yourself. Choose Google Docs if you prefer to work in Docs. Each collection has its own designs.

Are the templates free?

Yes. Editor themes, HTML downloads, and Google Docs templates are free. No account is needed for our editor or HTML downloads. You need a Google account to save a Google Docs copy to your Drive.

Can I customize the design?

In the editor, you can change fonts, colors, and spacing. For HTML templates, edit the file’s styles. In a copied Google Doc, use the formatting controls in Google Docs.

How do I choose an ATS-friendly layout?

Start with a straightforward reading order and familiar section headings. Check that text can be selected and copied in order from your exported document. Follow the employer’s file-format requirements; no template guarantees compatibility with every applicant tracking system.
